Century Egg Dumplings Soup

Talking about food, It's my life. Where there is food, there is Douglas. LOL. Just kidding. This afternoon after I am awake from my delighted sweet dream (not so sweet afterall. I barely have a dream yesterday, or today? uhh. wadeva), my mom asked me whether I would like to have some "Sui Gao"(in Hakka), a Chinese Dumplings soup. Sui Gao is one of my favourite Chinese cuisine among the few favourites one.

There are few type of Sui Gao regarding of their fillings. Not everyone can make a great and tender Sui Gao, and I tell you what, Sabah has the best of all. I tried once in Damansara Perdana, a place where I used to work at Kuala Lumpur, there is a restaurant named 面对面(Face to Face), and their Sui Gaos are basically too soft, and break easily. Not to mentioned about the filling too.

My mom bought these raw dumplings from a famous Chinese restaurant that was located just few metres away from Damai(I'm not sure what the restaurant name is) And then, my mom prepared it together with her savory soup.

Homemade Sui Gao prepared by my mom. Yums!

Another one, a closer look :P Hastag, #FoodPorn!

Look at how huge this dumpling is! The skin is not too soft, and not too hard. Just the perfect one. Most of the chefs who make dumplings, they use the skin wrapper for Wontons and  when they cook the dumplings, the skin root off from the meat by itself. Which is not appealing at all -.- and the soup turns to an ocean full of jelly fish. lol

Look at the filling. Love it so much! The meat is so tender, with the great smells of the century egg, It's totally gonna blow your taste bud with rainbow. Lolol :P It was made with minced pork that mixed with carrots and wrapped over the century egg. The one I ate in Damansara, It mixed with, I'm not so sure what it was. lol. but, it's just not nice for me to taste.

Till next time.
